Based in Burley, Classic Connection offers classic cars ranging from Austin Healeys  to Lamborghini Countachs. As long as it is classic, you will see it in their showroom. To make sure their classics meeting their exacting standards, their in house mechanics are classic specialists who know a thing or two about carbs.

Prior to us taking over it had 58 photos, 102 followers and was following 193 people. Made up of friends appropriate to company brands and random content and the highest like we had was 31 likes in 8 months! For a business that is a very poor ROI.

SOLUTION

We set out to ensure Classic Connection’s Instagram represented their business. To achieve this, we started by turning the imagery up to 11. We are not saying the original images weren’t great but we have access to a proper DSLR camera over a phone and that quality difference is noticeable.

​

With great images comes even greater #HashTags. One of the tricks to Instagram is to use hashtags. Imagine them as a directory service. Using the right hashtag will put your photo in the right category. There is no need to go mad, just use the right ones. Through research we could compile a list of hashtags searched by people who were into cars. This was then tailored and applied to the images that were uploaded.

Finally, we researched the audience. As we’ve said, this is for business not fame. Using business analytics we looked for people who had a certain interest, live in a few certain areas, had a certain income and were between a particular age group.

We now have a more versatile audience who react quicker to what Classic Connection shares and could in the future be potential clients. In the past month we have seen the below results:

Their follows went from 102 to 321, more than doubling

Been tagged in more images taken by the public, showing awareness is increasing.

Turned the highest like to 70, achieved in 2 days.

The people followed has gone up, but these are people who follow Classic Connection. Like for Like.
