What is digital advertising and marketing?

Traditional advertising and marketing refers to print, TV or radio. Digital is online using platforms like websites, Google AdWords, Facebook or Instagram. Unlike traditional advertising, you can measure the metrics and conversions your campaigns create and adjust on the fly. Meaning you get more for your money and can really see the ROI.

What is ROI?

ROI stands for Return On Investment which basically means if I put £100 in how much is that giving me in reach, conversions or real world money.

 

What is Reach?

Reach is how far your campaign reaches. If it is seen by 100 people, it has reached 100 people. On platforms like Facebook if people Like or Share your campaign it will be seen by additional people who you didn’t originally pay to advertise to. This is your Organic Reach.

 

What is a Conversion?

A conversion is when a person looking at your site takes action. This can be either an email to you, clicking the learn more button or purchasing something.

 

What is a Sales Funnel?

Like a funnel your customers come in through your website. They will pass through your page until they come out of the other end as a conversion. The idea is to narrow your customers to a call to action.

 

What is a Call to Action or CTA?

CTA’s are the outcome you want customers to take. Normally seen as “discover more” “learn more” or “buy here”.  These are the next steps you need for them to convert to a buying customer.
